I just wanted to update you on Digger! He is a wonderful addition to our family. I was concerned that due to his age he might have some trouble with our stairs but he bounds up and down them like a puppy! We are still getting used to each others schedules but he is the best dog. Please let his previous family know that he is loved and in a good place.

He likes to steal my side of the bed at night so we fight for covers and leg space but he sleeps through the night with no problem. He has a crate but it is not closed while we are gone and he does fine. He loves to beg at the table so I can see where he gained the extra pounds... He is now being ignored at the table and is getting the hint. Only table scraps now are from my niece dropping her food. he looks forward to those visits.

I think he has already lost quite a bit of weight from the numerous walks he gets every day. My husband and I take him walking at 6:15am and then the dog walker comes at Noon and he walks again at 5:30 and then right before bedtime. He is currently eating science diet senior wet/dry and seems to like that. He definitely knows when it is time to eat and doesn't allow me to forget!

He loves to go outside and chase squirrels, chippies, birds and Geese. (He just learned Geese chase back..eeek) We hope to move on time in the Spring into a home with a yard for him. I think he would really enjoy that. for now he has to live with apartment life!

He really does not like large dogs and we have had two incidents. I am now much more careful to keep him away from them. We will try and introduce him to smaller dogs in a few weeks and see how he does.
